As a Fortify Wellness Practitioner, you will not have a direct team member who can cover your duties or replace you for the day. With this in mind, upon realizing you may be unfit for work, please attend to the following steps:
1.) You are to notify your manager with a phone call as soon as possible; text message, slack message, email, or voice message will not be deemed as acceptable forms of communication for what is considered a serious matter.
2.) It is your responsibility to further communicate this absence to the Fortify Wellness Assistant who is scheduled for the day. Be sure to email wellness@thisisfortify.com, documenting your request for absence for that day.
3.) Most important is the communication to our clients. Wellness Assistants arrive for work 30 minutes before the first client appointment of the day, so please call them on the Wellness line to inform them of the absence so they can start on contacting the first and subsequent clients, as far in advance as possible, to reschedule these appointments.
The care of a client’s well-being, which you take into your own hands as a Fortify Wellness Practitioner, is of great importance and great pressure. Keeping this in mind it is in best practice to arrive 30 minutes prior to your client’s scheduled appointment. This will give you the chance to settle into your office, make sure the setting is comfortable, ensure you have reviewed their intake form thoroughly, and that you are in a good head space to take on your client’s health care needs. Your personal health is of great value and importance to Fortify, and we want to be sure you are physically and mentally ready to take on the important and rewarding job that you do.
We understand and accept that some days and weeks may be slower for some Fortify Wellness Practitioners. We believe to stay current, involved, and representative of the modality you passionately practice, it is in your best interest to ensure you are in the building as often as you can schedule and see value in. If this means charting at work or catching up on research for future planning while seated in Fortify Foods, your presence and availability may show benefit to your practice overall.

Practitioner Wellness Team Huddle:
The Fortify Wellness Team “huddles” 30 minutes prior to the start of every shift. (8:00am or 12:00pm). During huddles all practitioners who are scheduled and have a booking within an hour of the huddle time are expected to attend and contribute.
Huddles set the tone for the shift, aligning our purpose and intention. Huddles are brief, 15 minute meetings that take place in the reception area of the clinic. The Wellness Assistant will lead the huddle, running through the schedule for the day, and bringing up any questions or concerns surrounding patients. Practitioners should come prepared, with a solid understanding of their schedule for the day and week ahead. Huddles are a time to catch blood work that hasn’t been uploaded, intake forms that haven’t been filled out and patients who need extra support or communication (among other things).
